A Bit About Marnie
Marnie Lane has been practicing Fire Arts for 24 years. Having spent many years training Yoga and movement therapies, circus, and dance, this style and grace is evident in her performances.
Specializing in Contact Staff, Marnie is regarded as the leading female practitioner within Australia. She also performs with Double Staves, Dragon Staff, Grinder, Fire Eating and Poi.
Marnie has traveled throughout Australia, New Zealand, UK, parts of Europe and Eastern Europe learning, teaching and sharing the Fire Arts
Marnie performs across several platforms: Fire & Circus Events & Festivals, Arts Events, Music Festivals, Corporate Functions, Council Events, Weddings, Birthdays and Private Functions.
With the following props:
Fire: Contact Staff, Double Staves, Dragon Staff, Poi, Big Fire
Non-Fire / LED: Bubbles, LED Contact Staff, Roving Characters
Partnered with this, Marnie teaches skill technique in Contact Staff (All levels), Double Staves (Beginner to Intermediate), Dragon Staff (Beginner), Poi (Beginner), Hula Hoop (Beginner) and Groundwork (Beginner to Intermediate – Contact Staff, Hoop, + any prop)
Marnie is a Guinness World Record holder, and an Ambassador for Female Performers in the Fire Arts. Marnie also organises Fire and Flow Events, works on crew and supports similar niche Community events.

It is with huge excitement that I announce that I have been selected to work on a second development of the project that I began in 2022.
I am currently in deep exploration of mid-level groundwork movement pathways, unwinding the body patterning limiting this potential, and ultimately, adding the Contact Staff and researching what is possible, given these movement frameworks.
In this ten month project I will be engaging some amazing artists to assist me in my journey, learning movement frameworks, nerdy theatre and dance tech, and filming the development and outcome of the project.
With humble appreciation and incredible thanks to The Art House, Wyong, for believing in my vision of the possibilities of movement and Contact Staff. And for encouraging and enabling my development as an artist. 🙏💖

This 3 month program will allow Marnie to delve into the world of movement with the support of World Class Artists & Trainers, providing pivotal stepping stones to the creation of her next creative endeavour - Movement & Line - An Artistic Contact Staff Exploration.
